Discpline & Grievance
From 6th April existing laws regarding the statutory handling of discipline, dismissal and grievance issues within the workplace are being changed. The existing legislation is being removed and replaced with a new Code of Practice defined by Acas.
The new legislation should provide an easy to use and more efficient system for dispute resolution, which should reduce the need for employment tribunals by enabling disputes to be resolved in the workplace and hopefully making your life easier.
Follow the links below to the Acas website to get the new information:

Flexble Working
Also with effect from the 6th April the Flexible Working (Eligibility, Complaints and Remedies) Regulations 2002
widen the scope of the right of employees to request a flexible working
arrangement from their employer.
The right currently applies to carers
of children under six or disabled children under eighteen, as well as to employees who
care for certain categories of adults. These regulations extend the right to
cover carers of children under 17.
